Of course, I don’t mean my actual children, but me and my class had a trip to the supermarket last week.

I was dreading this trip for a few reasons, one being that some of my kids aren’t Chinese and always draw a lot of attention outside of the classroom. I learned the Chinese phrase for ‘No pictures.’, ‘Because they’re not yours.’ and ‘Are your ears broken?’ unlike most other phrases. Plus, there’s always the fear that one might wander off, so every trip out is spent counting kids and nearly having a heart attack every time one briefly slips my line of sight.
