Shenyang Tourists Ranked 5th on Overseas Spending

During the first half of 2017, China had a total of 62.03 million citizens traveling overseas, and Shenyang is ranked fifteenth in the country, with a total outbound consumption per capita reached 6,211 RMB, ranking fifth in the country.

Recently, the State Bureau Chinese Tourism Research Institute jointly with C-Trip has issued “China outbound tourism report of the first half of 2017 “, the report has examined the statistic of outbound travel of each city in China.

The Total Number of Outbound Tourists in China in the First Half of 2017 was 62.03 million 

In 2017, China continues to lead the world outbound tourism. Statistics shows, in the first half of 2017, the total number of outbound travel of Chinese citizens has reached 62.03 million, an increase of 5.1% over the same period last year’s 59.03 million. Over the same period, China has received 69.5 million inbound tourists, 7.47 million more than outbound tourists. International tourism revenue and expenditure continued to maintain a surplus.

The report predicts that in 2017 China’s outbound tourism spending will continue to grow on the basis of $109.8 billion of last year. China’s outbound tourism has entered an upgraded consumption stage, tourists are willing to increase spending to buy more high-quality tourism related products, the purpose of going abroad has changed from simple sightseeing to the enjoyment of overseas high-quality living environment and services, including climate, air quality, consumer products, commodities, health, and education, etc. Outbound travel at least once a year has become a new standard for many people.


Shenyang “New First-Line” Outbound Tourist City

The report sorted out the top 20 outbound tourism cities in the first half of 2017, and the top three were Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou. The number of outbound tourism in Shenyang has ranked fifteenth in the first half of this year. List in the specific order: Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Wuhan, Tianjin, Chongqing, Xiamen, Kunming, Xi’an, Changsha, Shenyang, Harbin, Nanning, Fuzhou, Qingdao, Ningbo.

Shenyang among other cities were named the “new first line”, while Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou are the top three exit ports, but the new first line cities provide more volume of customers in the market, industry analysis states the main reason for the rise of the new first lines are the convenience of visa processing, people do not need to go to larger cities for foreign visas.

Shenyang’s Outbound Consumption Power Ranked Fifth in China

The report ranked outbound tourism consumption of 20 top cities in average spending overseas, Liaoning has two large cities on the list. Jiangsu Suzhou ranked first with 7123 RMB. Beijing ranked second at 6778 RMB, Shanghai 6760 RMB, ranked third. Shenyang ranked fifth on the list with 6211 RMB per capita consumption, while Dalian was eighth,  5806 RMB.

The top 20 city outbound tourism consumption is Suzhou, Beijing, Shanghai, Guiyang, Shenyang, Xi’an, Dalian, Qingdao, Changchun, Wenzhou, Ji’nan, Zhengzhou, Kunming, Wuxi, Ningbo, Hefei, Fuzhou, Harbin, Nanjing, Hangzhou. Top five per capita consumption was over 6000 RMB.


Shenyang Travelers Loves to go to Thailand, Indonesia, and Japan

The first half of the year, Chinese tourists visited 20 major destination countries: Thailand, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Malaysia, United States, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Australia, Kampuchea, Maldives, Italy, UAE, Egypt, Germany, Britain, France, Russia, Sri Lanka.

Shenyang’s favorite destinations for outbound travel were Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore and the United states. According to statistics, in the first half of this year, the number of Chinese tourists to South Korea dropped by 40.97%, about 2.253 million travelers, a decrease of 1.56 million travelers.
